Cookie Policy

Last updated: 26 May 2025

Plain-English summary: We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and (with your permission) to understand how people use the site. Your personalisation preferences are stored in your account, not as browser cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember things between page loads. Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR, we need your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.

Your personalisation profile — not a cookie

When you agree to personalise your Fledge experience, we store preference data in your Fledge account on our secure servers — not in a browser cookie. This means:

  • It is tied to your account, not your device or browser.
  • It is not accessible to any other website.
  • It follows you if you sign in on a different device.

What we store in your personalisation profile (consent required)

DataWhat it isWhy we store it
Business interestsCategories you picked in the Ideas Builder (e.g. food, art, tech)To show tips and lessons relevant to your type of business
Dismissed tipsTips you've marked as “not helpful” on the dashboardSo we don't keep showing you things you've already seen
Completed lessonsChallenges you've finishedTo track your progress and suggest what to do next
Visit countHow many times you've opened your dashboardTo personalise tips by experience level

You can withdraw personalisation consent any time in Settings → Privacy, which immediately deletes this data from your account. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Managing browser cookies

When you first visit Fledge, we show a banner asking whether you'd like to accept analytics cookies. You can change your answer at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and localStorage — the banner will reappear on your next visit.

You can also control cookies directly in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent the site from working properly.

Third-party cookies

Our payment provider Stripe may set cookies on checkout pages to prevent fraud. These are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
