Help Shape the UK’s First Entrepreneurship Platform for KS3 Students

Fledge is building a platform designed to help young people launch and run their first real business online.

We’re looking for a creative, proactive and entrepreneurial person to join us as our Growth & Community Lead, helping grow the brand, build the community and shape how young people experience the platform from the very beginning.

The Role

  • Creating and managing social content
  • Helping develop referral and ambassador programmes
  • Identifying opportunities for viral or community-led growth
  • Building relationships with schools, creators and youth organisations
  • Creating case studies and student success stories
  • Supporting outreach and partnership conversations
  • Tracking analytics, engagement and growth metrics
  • Testing ideas and experimenting with new growth strategies
  • Helping organise campaigns, launches and community initiatives
  • Occasionally attending exhibitions, networking events or education-focused events

As Growth & Community Lead, your focus will be helping grow the Fledge community from the ground up.

While the Founder focuses on the platform itself, including branding, product development and technical direction, your role will centre around building awareness, engagement and momentum around the business.

This is a highly hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys creating, communicating, experimenting and making things happen.

You’ll help shape how the brand connects with young people, parents, schools and early supporters, while helping build a community that feels exciting, authentic and genuinely supportive for young entrepreneurs. A large part of the role will involve creating and managing content across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts and LinkedIn. This includes documenting the journey of building Fledge, creating engaging social content, identifying trends, highlighting young entrepreneurs and helping tell stories that people naturally want to share.

You’ll also help build the community directly through ambassador programmes, referral schemes, competitions, outreach campaigns and partnerships. We want someone who is comfortable reaching out to schools, youth organisations, creators, student communities and potential strategic partners to help grow awareness of the platform.

Who We're Looking For

  • Strong understanding of Social Media and Creator Culture
  • Creative, proactive and self-motivated
  • Confident communicator with strong people skills
  • Comfortable creating short-form content
  • Interested in Startups, Entrepreneurship and Community Building
  • Able to work independently and take ownership
  • Organised and comfortable managing multiple projects
  • Interested in Growth, Engagement and Online Communities
  • Comfortable reaching out to Partners, Schools and Creators
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and experiment

We’re looking for someone who is curious, proactive, ideas-driven and excited by the opportunity to help grow something from the very beginning. If you naturally enjoy creating content, spotting opportunities, building communities and making things happen, we’d love to hear from you.

What You'll Gain

  • Real hands-on Startup Experience
  • Direct involvement in building an early-stage brand
  • Ownership and responsibility from Day One
  • Experience across Growth, Content, Partnerships and Community Building
  • Portfolio-worthy projects and campaigns
  • Exposure to Startup Strategy and Brand Building
  • Opportunity to build real commercial and marketing experience outside University
  • Flexible working around studies
  • Networking opportunities through events and partnerships
  • A strong CV and LinkedIn case study by the end of the role
  • The chance to help shape a business with genuine social impact

Contract Details

As an early-stage Startup, the role will operate on a rolling monthly contract to allow flexibility as the business grows and evolves.
We’re looking for someone who is excited by the challenge of helping build something from the ground up and who can demonstrate genuine impact through growth, engagement and community development.
While we hope the role develops into a longer-term opportunity, continued engagement will depend on performance, momentum and business needs. Either party may end the arrangement with two weeks’ notice.

Apply

Sound like you?

No CV required. No cover letter. Just answer the questions below honestly and we'll take it from there.

Student, working, freelancing — give us a sentence or two on your current situation.

What specifically made you want to apply? Be honest — we're more interested in genuine excitement than a polished answer.

A piece of content, an event, a community, a campaign, a project. Anything you created or organised that you're proud of, and what made it work.

If you started tomorrow, how would you begin building awareness and community for Fledge? Walk us through your thinking. There are no wrong answers, but we want to see how your mind works.

Social accounts, portfolio, content you've made, projects you've worked on. Drop anything relevant.

A note on AI

We use AI tools ourselves and we have nothing against them. But the ideas and answers in this application should be yours. We're hiring for creative thinking and initiative — if you ask an AI to answer our questions, you're skipping the part of the job we're actually trying to evaluate. Authentic beats impressive every time, and we can usually tell the difference.
